It sleeps 2-3, offers free airport pickup (just 30 minutes away from Denpasar’s airport), has a full kitchen and just about everything you could need for your stay. Oh, and did we mention it starts at only $41 per night? It’s a bit more in busier seasons (around $70-$80), but even then, it’s extremely affordable, especially if you’re splitting with friends.

2. A magical treehouse with a pool
Ok, we are all starry-eyed over this super-magical treehouse complete with a pool, a treehouse swing and complimentary breakfast with fresh-squeezed juices from their garden. It’s on the main road to Ubud (less than a mile from the city center), but it’s tucked away overlooking jungles. 3. Hidden oasis for larger groups
This villa sleeps 8, so there’s plenty of room, but that doesn’t make it any less magical. We’re talking gorgeous pools overlooking rice fields, rain showers, hanging chairs, projectors for movie nights on your tropical garden patio. Also located less than a mile from Ubud’s city center, it’s the perfect tropical base to explore from.
Nightly cost: approximately $30-$40 per person
4. A Villa large enough for the whole group
This five-bedroom villa sleeps 10, so if you’ve got the whole friend group sold on the trip, this place will easily accommodate everyone. It’s a beachfront villa in a quieter area of Bali, away from the usual groups of tourists. You’ll have a full dining room, beautiful indoor and outdoor common spaces, an amazing pool, a garden, even a massage area (there’s staff available as needed). In case you ever want to leave the villa, the beach is right there and there plenty of walking trails and local restaurants nearby.
Nightly cost: $30-50 per person
5. Tropical villa (with a chef!)
This simple and tropical villa sleeps up to 7 and comes with a property manager and chef who can cook for your group as well as help organize tours, activities or transportation as needed. Plus, the treehouse is also super close to the Denpasar airport, so it’s a great place to stay as soon as you arrive.

8. Mountaintop Retreat
Want to head up into the mountains for a bit? This villa in the hills will give you all the mountaintop views you’re looking for.
